Popeyes Marrero

LOUISIANA, UNITED STATES

Popeyes Corporate recently contacted Archmill House to help transform a Popeyes location in Marrero, Louisiana. As with all of our Rapid Re-Imaging projects, the goal was to update the exterior and interior in a way that was consistent with brand guidelines, with little to no disruption to operations.

To start, the Archmill team – including a dedicated Site Supervisor – implemented a reduced construction schedule, with work completed between the hours of 10 PM and 9 AM, when the location was closed. This ensured the restaurant could continue to operate, helping to maximize return on investment.

The Archmill House team began with the interior, demolishing existing counters, beverage stations, furniture, light fixtures, ceiling tiles, and plumbing fixtures. The team then began the millwork and furniture phase, which involved furnishing and installing a new service and beverage counter, trash units with solid surface tops, a custom Mobile Order Pickup unit, new community table, banquettes, tables, and chairs. They then furnished and installed new flooring and tile, ceiling tiles, artwork, orange partitions, an interior brick wall system, and new doors.

For the exterior, the team demolished and updated the location’s signage, stucco, shutters, canopies, and plumbing. On the electrical and data side, we furnished and installed new light fixtures, both on the exterior and the interior at the service counter, helping to reduce energy costs and increase flexibility for ambient lighting.

During the construction process, the client made a series of design changes to the interior and exterior, which presented a number of challenges. However, because of our in-house design capabilities and experience, the team was able to efficiently implement these changes without delaying the manufacturing and construction schedule.

Once construction was complete, the Archmill House team power-washed the sidewalks and parking lot to ensure the refreshed location created the best possible impression, even before customers had arrived at its front door.

"Archmill House’s efficiency and quality of execution exceeded the work provided by other local general contractors we have used in New Orleans,” said Samson Kellman, Design Manager at Popeyes Corporate, explaining that the experience and collaborative approach of the Archmill House team helped ensure a smooth process. “Open lines of communication allowed for a good working relationship throughout the design and construction phases of the work," they said.

The end result is a fresh, modern-looking Popeyes that boasts an expanded capacity and a layout optimized for efficiency, all of which will help increase foot traffic and provide an even better customer experience.
