In 2011, Hamilton Central Public Library and Farmers’ Market was recognized with an Ontario Association of Architects Design Excellence award for the redesign of a 31 year old downtown landmark.

Architect: david premi Architects inc. & RHD Architects Inc.

Project: The redevelopment of the Hamilton Library and Market on York Boulevard, in downtown Hamilton.

Solution: Both facilities are contained within a single building and include a barrier-free entry to the library, large interactive information centre and a secondary entry into the market. The addition is integrated into the overall building with a state-of-the-art glass façade which wraps around the first storey of both the library and market facilities.
