Archmill House Projects - 2022 Year in Review

As we settle back into work from the holiday season, we wanted to take a moment to reflect back on 2022, which was another fantastic year of innovation, growth, and achievement for the Archmill House team.

Here are some of our favorite Archmill House projects from the year that was.

Retail and Commercial Spaces

Psycho Bunny Yorkdale

Popular men’s clothing brand Psycho Bunny had an interesting challenge for the Archmill House team: could we help create a storefront that would stop shoppers in their tracks and provide a conceptual model for future builds? The result involved a full reworking of the interior, including new fixtures, lighting, and more.

LCBO Flagship Store

At this flagship LCBO store in downtown Toronto, a new interior design and layout was needed to match and enhance a number of innovative initiatives and features, including a same-day pickup counter, interactive digital kiosks, and a 1,400 square foot cold room.

Michael Hill Flagship

To design a new flagship store for Michael Hill, one of the world’s most popular retail jewelry chains, the Archmill team worked with the company’s design team to create a curved kiosk that would really bring the “wow” factor while also improving customer flow.

Bay Adelaide Tower North

Despite a number of delays and challenges, including COVID shutdowns, union strikes, and more, 2022 saw the installation of wall and ceiling paneling at one of Toronto’s most prominent buildings: the Bay Adelaide Tower North.

Southbridge Long-Term Care

Archmill House has a large portfolio of completed projects at long-term care homes, and this project in Southbridge continued that proud tradition, with a unique twist. Partnering with ByNature Design, the team attempted to “bring the outside in,” with millwork and a moss art wall, a first for Archmill House.

QSR Spaces

Popeyes Virginia

Popeyes reached out to Archmill House in early 2022 with an eye toward refreshing a location in Virginia, both to update the interior and exterior and incorporated many QSR design trends they had been experimenting with. The extraordinary results have led to an ongoing partnership, with

Archmill House and Popeyes working together to create a full, multi-location refresh program.

Tim Hortons Barton

Archmill House was given the challenge to renovate all public-facing areas of a Tim Hortons restaurant in Hamilton, including service counters, seating, walls, a decorative curved ceiling area, wainscoting, and chair rails – in just 5 days. To streamline production without sacrificing durability and quality, the team incorporated standard millwork within the existing footprint, with custom millwork in service areas and cabinets made out of long-lasting Baltic Birch.

Starbucks Broadway

This Starbucks location in Vancouver presented the Archmill team with an interesting challenge: to complete a stain process on floor-to-ceiling wall slats and panels behind the store’s front counter menu boards – within 10 days. The unique process, which involved the use of steel wool and vinegar, created an elegant sugar maple stain that completely changed the product and the look and feel of the space.

Taps Public House

For Taps Public House, a popular restaurant in Mississauga, the goal was to refresh and enhance the space’s industrial feel – as quickly as possible. To get around supply chain issues and meet our deadline, the team installed items as they arrived, leveraging high-end millwork and gorgeous banquette seating to create a welcoming space that oozes glamour and classic diner vibes.
